about the exhibit component
This machine simulates the force of a vacuum former. You can place objects like keys, cell phones and other items under the plastic sheet. You can even place your hands under the sheet. When the machine is on, the plastic sheet forms to the shape of what is underneath due to the force of suction. This component was originally designed for our How People Make Things exhibit. Design drawings are available for purchase.
