Matt’s Maker Spaces

design services and educator training combine to bring individual maker spaces to a variety of venues, from elementary schools to hospitals.

about

We partner with Matt’s Maker Space (MMS), a non-profit organization committed to STEAM education, to develop maker spaces in a variety of venues. After a space has been chosen for a Matt’s Maker Space, the Children’s Museum serves as a design consultant and helps to evaluate, design and create the physical space, as well as consult on tools and materials, and provide professional development training for the space’s educators through our nationally recognized Maker Educator Boot Camp program.

Matt’s Maker Space was founded by Noelle and David Conover, in honor of their son, Matt, who lost a courageous battle with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2002 when he was just 12 years old. Matt was a lover of tinkering, creating and building, and a student in the Mount Lebanon School District.
